Dahl (slow cooker) with chicken tikka, Poppadoms and spiced onions

A lovely fakeaway idea!




Calories for Dahl- 231 cals per serving (recipe serves 3)

2 x Sharwood Poppadoms - 37 cals per poppadom = 74 calories

70g mrs unis (Asda) spiced onions- 43 calories


Total meal cals 527 calories!


Ingredients for Dahl


  • 125g of dried red lentils (rinsed well)

  • 200g chopped tomatoes

  • 200ml light coconut milk

  • 50g diced white onion

  • 150g frozen butternut squash

  • 40g tikka masala curry paste

  • 8g heaps of garlic purée

  • 8g heaps of ginger puree

  • 1tsp cumin powder

  • 15g mango chutney

  • Half vegetable stock cube (100ml


    water)

  • Half tsp chilli flakes

  • Salt and pepper to season


Ingredients for chicken


  • 300g Raw chicken breast - cut into chunks

  • 10g tikka curry powder (I got mine from Asda)


Method for Dahl


Combine all ingredients for Dahl in slow cooker and cook on a low heat for 6 hours.


Method for chicken


Cut chicken into chunks and season with curry powder.

Using 1kcal spray in a large frying pan- brown your chicken for a coulle of mins.


Reduce heat and cover your pan with a lid and cook the chicken through for 8-10 mins.


Serve and enjoy!
